3. Tap Start > Settings > System tab > Memory icon > Main tab.

4. Move the slider to to the left to allocate approximately 40 MB of memory for programs. Ensure the slider
does not move back to the right, which can occur if you allocate more than 40 MB for programs.
5. Tap ok.
6. Warm boot the MC50. See Performing a Warm Boot on page 1-6.
7. Verify that the MC50 maintained the memory allocation set before the warm boot. If not, repeat steps 2
through 4.
8. Extract all files from the zip archive and copy them to an SD card.
9. Insert the SD card into the MC50. See Multi Media Card (MMC) / Secure Device (SD) Card on page 2-3 for
instructions.
10. Place the MC50 into a cradle with AC power applied.
11. Use File Explorer to navigate to the Storage Card folder. To open File Explorer, tap Start > Programs > File
Explorer
.
12. Tap the mc50_update.lnk file to initiate the upgrade. The upgrade takes approximately 10 minutes.
CAUTION Do not remove the mobile computer from the cradle or remove power during the upgrade.
