Motorola V80 Bluetooth Connections
You can use the Microsoft
®
Wireless Transceiver for Bluetooth
®
to transfer les, contacts, and other information
between your Motorola v80 mobile phone and your computer. For this to work correctly, you must rst
congure the computer and mobile phone to communicate with each other.
This document will help you congure your computer and your mobile phone to communicate over a Bluetooth
connection, and step you through synchronizing your data.
These instructions assume that:
• You have already set up and congured your Microsoft Wireless Transceiver for Bluetooth on your
computer.
• You have purchased Mobile PhoneTools 2.0 (sold separately) to use with your Motorola mobile phone.
• You are running Microsoft Windows
®
XP with Service Pack 2 installed.
To congure your phone for Bluetooth connections
1 Press Menu, press Settings, press Connection, press Bluetooth Link, and then press Setup.
2 (Optional:) Enter a custom name for your phone, and then press OK.
3 Set Power to On.
To add your phone as a paired Bluetooth device to Windows
1 On your computer, click Start, click Control Panel, click Printers and other Hardware, and then click
Bluetooth Devices.
2 On the Devices tab, click Add.
3 On your mobile phone, press Menu, press Settings, press Connection, press Bluetooth Link, press
Setup, and then press Find Me. Your phone will be discoverable by your computer for 60 seconds.
4 On your computer, click My device is set up and ready to be found, and then click Next.
5 Follow the instructions in the Add Bluetooth Device Wizard to install your mobile phone. When prompted,
you will need to enter a passkey on your mobile phone to accept the connection from your computer.
6 Your computer will detect your phone and add support for your phone’s services. Click Finish when
prompted to exit the Add Bluetooth Device Wizard.
To install Mobile PhoneTools 2.0
To use Mobile PhoneTools with your Microsoft Bluetooth Transceiver, you must run the Phone Setup Wizard on
your computer. Follow the instructions below:
1 Start the Mobile PhoneTools setup from the enclosed CD-ROM.
2 Follow the setup instructions on the included Getting Started page, stopping when you get to the Phone
Setup Wizard.
3 When asked how you will be connecting your phone to the computer, click Bluetooth.
4 When prompted for the type of Bluetooth adapter, click Use another Bluetooth adapter installed.
5 Click Finish to close setup and start Mobile PhoneTools 2.0..
The program will start and connect to your phone.
When the icons on the side of the PhoneTools display are active, you are ready to use your phone to synchronize
your contacts, calendar, and messages.
